However, SxS media is a professional format and not available from retail outlets, so in situations in the field where additional media is required or for cost-conscious users, where this ultimate performance is less important, Sony have developed the MEAD-SD01 adaptor to enable the use of consumer SD Card media Announcing MEAD-SD01 Adaptor for SD card support in XDCAM EX series The MEAD-SD01 adaptor supports SD card (note the MEAD-MS01 is already available for Memory Stick). It is intended for cost conscious customers/emergency use for broadcast/production customers. Note will require firmware upgrade to camcorders/decks. Recommended Media for MEAD-SD01: • The latest Class 10 SDHC card offers the speed required. • SanDisk offer 32GB, 16GB, 8GB and 4GB. • Other manufacturer’s cards are not recommended. • Only Class 4 is available from Sony at this moment.
